Ipsy bag September 2013

This month's Ipsy bag was perfect for a natural look or a dramatic look. It had a card sample of the Career Palette, NYX Shadow in Morroco, Starlooks Pencil in Obsidian, It's So Big Mascara by Elizabeth Mott,Cailyn tinted Lip Balm in Big Apple, & Butter London polish in LA Moss.

Look # 1 is more of a natural look. I used The Career Palette Sample card along with the Starlooks eyeliner & It's So Big mascara. I Also used Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation in Ivoire 2c, Benefit Flawless powder in Love Me Ivory, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Urban Decay shadow in Polyester Bride, & Elizabeth Arden Luminous Lip Gloss in Precious Petal.

Next is a little more dramatic...I used The NYX Shadow in Morocco, Starlooks Pencil in Obsidian, It's So Big Mascara, & The Cailyn Lip Balm. I Also used The Kat Von D True Romance Love & Fury Shadow palette in colors Glock, Holy Bible, & Albino. And since the lip balm was a little bright for me I added Elizabeth Arden Luminous Lip Gloss in Precious Petal over it.

And saving the best for last...I LOVE this Butter London in LA Moss. It is a stunning wine color!

Nails for my Night out...

So a few nights ago I needed a quick mani for a night out with friends. Instead of removing the polish I had on cause it would take to long to redry everything I just added a few layers to change from my bright summer mani to something fitting to where we were going. 

I started with 2 coats of Pop Beauty Nail Glam Polish in Ablaze...

Over that I applied 1 coat Essie She's Pampered....

And 1 coat Butter London The Black Night (FYI...The flash made it look much more sheer than it was..My nails did appear to have a nice even coat of glitter....)

Butter London HRH & The Black Knight....

Ok so when Ulta had these bad boys on sale a few weeks ago for $9 each I Hadd bite. This time I bought HRH Which is a Shimmery Violet and The Black Knight which is Multi Color Glitter in a black base. Now all the reviews I Read said the Black Knight was kinda sheer but after trying it out I am going to try it on it's own to see of I can get full coverage. I Used 1 coat of the Black Knight over 1 coat of HRH. Usuaslly I would used a top coat but since I was going out I didnt have time so I was chipped in a day or so.

Here is the 1 coat HRH alone....

And with 1 coat of The Black Knight over it....

I did NOT have the issue I was reading about the polish being gloppy but again I did use just one coat. I would HIGHLY recommend some sort of top coat as after just a day without I started chipping. The HRH Went on smooth and even where the Black Knight does have a bit of a rough finish. Would I buy them again? Most Certainly. Actually to date they are the ONLY Butter London polishes I have really been over the moon about!

 

 

Butter London Knackered Nails and review....

Ok Really...First Ulta has a day long Bogo sale on these...I got Knackered & Lovely Jubbly. But not a week later Coterie opens and has them as the opening sale. With the early sign up code I got 3 Butter London Polishes (Knackered, Bluey, & West End Wonderland) & A top coat for only $16.80!! So yea...Be prepared for the Butter London invasion LMAO! 

In my mind I really think that Knackered should be called Sugar Plum Fairy LOL. It is a super light and shimmery purple with just a slight hint of green thrown in there...It really isnt noticable but you can see it from the bottle...

Now usually I prefer a fully opaque polish but I really loved that is is slightly Translucent. I used 3 coats of polish here. There was no streaking at all even though it is a shimmer polish. It did not smell bad and it dried super fast.

And in case you were not already sold Butter London is a 3 free product!! It means it is Non toxic! They usually retail for $14 a bottle. I know I know I always thought my limit was 10 for most polishes but I would make and exception any day for this awesome product!

OPI German-icure nails...

OK Seriously...Is this not a great fall color! When I got this I was a little skeptical cause I am not a brown kinda girl and there is a lot of bronze tones to this polish. While it might not have been the color I thought it would it looks just awesome on! It is a dark red/bronze color. Of course it went on super smooth and had no streaks. It took to coats to get to this color and it was fully opaque.

Here is the bottle shot...The pics online always seem to show it a bit redder than it is...

And just because I ended up adding 1 coat of NYX Girls polish in Dorothy over it. I do have to say though this polish seemed to take FOREVER to dry and even once it was dry to the touch it still had a gummy feeling for at least a few hours :(
