Glitter Felt Mickey Barrettes...

Ok so every year I like to do a little DIY project for xmas for my friends and coworkers. This year I was inspired by a little barrette I saw on our last trip to Disney. It was a simple design and I knew just how easy it would be to make :P
So here is the finished product...
Here is what is needed:
A mickey hole punch or a print out of a 1 inch Mickey silhouette
Sharp Scissors
Black felt
Craft glue
Hot glue gun
Glitter
Blank Barrettes
A silver sharpie or light colors fabric pencil
A cheap paintbrush for the glue
Glitter fix (I used Glitter sealer spray paint)
Ribbon if desired

So first I cut out all my Mickey heads from the felt. I printed out a 1 1/2 mickey silhouette and traced around the pattern on my felt. (I have since found a Mickey shaped punch so I will use that next time.)
So for the first pair I drizzled on glue on the front and used a brush to spread the glue out....

Then I covered the whole thing in glitter...
It took a couple hours tops to dry. I then used my glue gun to attach the one glitter Mickey to the front and one to the back of the barrettes. As you can see the ones I used had a place to attach them but no worries if yours dont just attach it to the end of the barrette.
So after doing a few this way I decided it would be easier (And less messy) to attach the mickey's before adding glitter...here is them ready for glitter...
I found a little ribbon that reminded me of Minnie too and added that to some of the finished barrettes....
So there ya have it...a simple project that anyone can do. I made probably 50 individual barrettes. I think it took maybe a few hours to complete them all but it was spaced out over a week or so. I am pretty happy with the finished product and people seemed to love them. What do you think?

December Ipsy bag...

Alright ladies it's that time again...gonna show ya the awesome products from this month's Ipsy bag. I been considering doing an unsub for a little while but I saw one of the sneak peeks this months and just had to have it :P
So the bag this month is a little lack luster. It is a simple black bag with a pink zipper and a pink heart tag.
There was a travel size Bumble & Bumble BB Repair blow dry cream...
A Nourish Organics avocado and argon renewing eye cream...

I havent tried these first 2 products but I did use the others...

First was a mineral eyeshadow from Cailyn cosmetics in Orchid, A Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara, & a NYX cosmetics Butter Lip Balm. I was excited for the mascara and it did not disappoint! The shadow had a nice shimmer to it and didnt have much fallout. And the lippie was just a hint of color!

I liked the look overall it was nice and natural. I will be getting next months bag but after that we will see. I feel the brands overall just are not worth it anymore...
Here is the bag overall this month...

November Ipsy Bag...

Ok so I am a couple months behind on stuff like this due to the holidays so I am gonna make these brief. Here is a peek and swatches from my November Ipsy bag....
Seriously in love with this supper glittery bag! I know it doesnt seem like me but yea...
Marc Anthony Oil Of Morocco argan oil hairspary. I was hesitant but this works quite well and holds all day!
Wet N Wild Megasticks Balm Stain chubby Lip pencil in Lady And The Vamp. I was disappointed to see this. While I do LOVE the color I did not subscribe to ipsy to get low end brands like this. Sorry but if I wanted to "try" a WnW product i would just go pick up the full size myself!
Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine glitter eyeliner. I kinda love this liner. Now while the awesome glitter in the formula doesnt come off the brush well it is just a good basic black liner!
Tarte Maracuja oil for face. Now while I am sure this is a great product as I love Tarte I just dont really use face oils.
Bombshell Cream Eye Base in Submission. This product was just kinda eh. I really wouldnt us eit as a base I much. It is a pretty color for a quick eye when I am in a rush.
So obviously l to right is Elizabeth Mott Liner, Bombshell base, & The Lip stain.
This is what the eye base looks like by its self...
For my finished eye look I used my Urban Decay Skull palette. I used Twice Baked in the crease, Midnight Cowboy Rides Again on my lid, Chopper above the crease and to blend, Blunt above that and a touch of Cherry at my brow and inside corners. The liner is the Elizabeth Mott and I finished with MAC Zoom Lash mascara.

And the lippie...I do love it I just felt like the brand is a little low end for a service like this.
