*I received this product free to try from Crowdtap and litter genie. The review is 100% my own views and opinions*
So a couple weeks ago I was asked to join a crowdtap Sample & Share for the Litter Genie. Being that I have 2 indoor cats at my household I figured I would give it a try. Overall I love the product but personally I am not sure if it was something I woulda bought otherwise. The starter kit runs about $14.99 at Target with the refills being around the same price for 2 of them.
So here is what it looks like...
The purpose of this system is to make maintaining the littler box a little less of a hassle. no trips to the garbage can which my litter box is no where near. It was a little difficult to put together based on the directions but not that hard to figure out. The refill (One comes with the system) Looks like this...
So here is what you do to set it up. There is a little strip around the refill you have to remove (Much like that on one of the big tubs of litter.) You pull the blue plastic through the refill base and tie a knot at the bottom of it. Then you set the refill inside the base and basically you are done LOL. Attach the holder for the scoop into the grooves on the side of the base. Kinda like this feature cause I hated having a scoop just laying around next to the litter box. Close the base and it is ready for use. Now when you scoop you open the top of the Litter Genie and deposit the contents in the bag.
The little gray handle on the front pulls out and drops anything you put in it to the case of the container.
This is what the inside looks like when you open the lid...
There is also a cutter on the inside of the lid so when the bag is full you cut it off and tie another part of the refill.
Overall the product did what it promised. It made cleanup a bit easier and trapped in the bad odors. I don't think I would have gotten around to getting this product myself but now that I have one I will be buying refills for it. It you are a real cat lover than I think this is a great item to have around!
